BSNL SIM is now the new King in the Indian Telecom Sector. After the price hike by Jio, Airtel And Vi, Peoples are looking to BSNL The Govt SIM, due to cheap plans.
Where To Purchase?
You can buy a BSNL SIM From BSNL Store, Office, Or Local shop, But You can search on Google for nearby BSNL offices, go to a nearby city if it is not available, go to a Nearby City, or buy from an authentic shop or umbrella guy, port is in the same place.
BSNL New SIM Price
BSNL Sim is totally free, you can buy the SIM in 0, but there are FRC plans, which are applicable on First Time Recharge, you have to pay for the plans. There are 2 BSNL FRC, or First Time Recharge Plans.
- 108 = 1GB/Day, U/L Calls, 28 Days.
- 249 = 2GB/Day, U/L Calls, 45 Days.
These 2 plans are different from other normal recharges, These are compulsory. We will also talk about BSNL’s normal plans, which you are going to do next time.
Process:
You need your Aadhaar card only, you must be 18+, they will do biometric verification. Sim will activate in 1 hour to 5 to 6hr or max 24hr. After the SIM is activated, you will receive an SMS by Tele Verification,
So call the BSNL number, talk to customer care and share the details, they will activate the SIM. After some time, you will get your recharge, if not, again, go to the office or store, where you purchased.
Port To BSNL
If you want to port your Jio, Airtel VI or any SIM to BSNL, you need to recharge your current SIM for sending an SMS, which Is PORT. Space your number and send it to 1900. You will receive, a code, which will be valid for 90 days, so go to the store with the code and ask them to port.
They will also demand an alternative number, so give them one, go with the Aadhaar card, and they will also take your Live photo. The price of the port is also free, and you have to follow the same process as I told you above about a new SIM purchase.
Some may charge 50 to 100 or some amount for port, but these days, all are free. You can check from a store or shop, but you have to do FRC recharge, which I discussed above.

BSNL Speed Test
Now we will do a speed test, Here is the BSNL Internet speed test, you can see, I am getting 11MBPS speed, which is very lower than Jio, Airtel or VI. Upload speed is also very weak. This is BSNL 4G. This speed may be different in many places,
But at this speed, YouTube and other things are working well, but you may face buffering, also Ping in PUBG, problems in meetings or class, if speed is not good in your area, but mine works well, not best.
BSNL 4G, 5G
BSNL is available with 2G, 3G, and 4G, but not 5G. But BSNL 4G is not available in every place, contact your local BSNL office to know about 4G availability in your area, or contact customer care. 4G may be available in 1 year to the entire India, and BSNL may also launch BSNL 5G in 1–2 years.
BSNL Network Coverage
Network is one of the biggest problem in BSNL. Situation was very bad before 1 and 2 years, almost No signal or no network problem, but they improved, but still, the network of BSNL is not stable, sometimes low and rare times no network, so they’re still working on upgrading.
You must check manually in your area, but not in your network. Some places may get a very bad, average or good network in BSNL. If they fix the network problem, everything will be good.
Call
The call quality of BSNL is good, but this is also linked to the network. I got good quality in this range, but you must check the network, otherwise call quality may be bad.
Verdict
You can buy it as a secondary SIM at the moment because of the network problem and low internet speed, but the prices are very cheap, better than Jio and Airtel, VI. If BSNL fixes Network and internet speed problems, this is a good SIM. But if, in your area, the network and Speed are good, you can go for it, it’s the best SIM.
