There are many smartphones on the market, most looks good, but if you research properly, they are not fit for you. Many peoples purchased phones, After they realized that, this smartphone was not worth to buy. So here are my Smartphone Buying Guide 2024, which helps you to choose best.
Battery
Most smartphones offer good battery life, But in era of 5G, battery life is important. Battery usage in 5G is very high. You can compare the backup between 4G and 5G usage. So don’t buy a phone with a 5000 mAh battery.
But if your use is low, you can consider a battery under the 4500 limit. This is different on the iPhone; most iPhone batteries are not good for backup, but their UI and optimization are good. But most budget and old iPhones have less backup.
Charging
Charging speed also matters, but high-speed charging is also not ideal. Maybe this is true or false, but I have a 65-watt charger and a 33-watt charger for different phones. The battery of a 33W charger gives a good backup,
but the battery of a 65W charger reduces the backup. Even the optimization of the 65W battery is good. Also, you should avoid chargers like 10W, 18W, and 22W. These are very slow.
Display
Now, people think only big displays are good, but after some time, they feel unwell. Screens above 6.5 inches are too big, and screens below 6 inches are too small. If you want the perfect smartphone, you should look between these numbers. But if you really want a big screen, you go with a big-screen smartphone. The big screen also reduces battery life.
Display is not only about screen size, Resolution, Panel, Protection Design, and refresh rate. TFT Displays are outdated; don’t go for them. Displays below LCD are not worth buying. But there are much AMOLED, OLED, sAMOLED, AMOLED+, and many more variants. AMOLED Display colors are good, but they are higher in price. If your budget is good, you can go with a good-panel smartphone.
There are HD, HD+ 720p, FHD And FHD+ displays. Smartphones below 10,000 are come with an HD+ Display. But you should not buy a display with HD or below HD; FHD and + Display are best, but if your budget is low, don’t go below HD+.
Refresh rates give you a smooth experience; refresh rates below 90 Hz are not smooth but work well in normal usage. If you are a gamer and want good gaming, go for 120 Hz. FHD+ LCD Display is better than HD or HD+ Amoled Display.
You should also look for Display protection; Gorilla Glass, etc., are good, but you should not depend on them; always cover your smartphone with a good screen guard.
Connectivity
Connectivity covers many things. This is 2024, Your device must be 5G with all required bands. 5G is also free, but it’s going to end soon. Bluetooth and WiFi version should above 5 for better connectivity. 3.5mm Jack and USB C 3+ version is good more better connected.
Less than this is not good for you. Updates also matter. At least go for 3 Years security updates and 2 or 2+ years OS Updates.
Performance
Performance covers many things like Processor, RAM, storage, UI, etc. Snapdragon, MediaTek, Exynos, and many other processors are on the market. But it depends on you and the type of use you want.
I made a video on Snapdragon vs. MediaTek that you should watch. But cores and clock speed is most important. Like in 1.1Ghz With quad-core processor is for low use.
1.8 GHz to 2.2 GHz with an OCTA core is for medium use, and 1.8 to 2.8 GHz with an OCTA core or above is for high use. If you are gaming, Then Graphics and GPUs also matter. If you have low or no use, 4gb 64gb is enough, but if you want to do normal or high use, don’t go below 6GB RAM and 128GB storage.
UI plays a good role in optimization. If mobile is clean and without ads, it’ll work well and perform well. One UI, Oxygen UI, and Apple OS are the best.
Camera
If you are buying a budget smartphone, then the camera is always average or below average. If your camera processor is not good, then other features are not worthy. Go for a good camera censor. Aperture size matters, if you want good photography.
If your Camera does not come with an OIS feature, it will be shaky. Telephoto lenses, wider lenses, etc., allow for good photography, but they do not work well on budget or cheap phones. Video recording should also be checked.
If you are happy with 1080p video, make sure it is available on mobile. 1080p at 60fps should be there; 4k at 30 or 60fps is for a high-budget phone, but don’t go below 1080p; if possible, go with 60fps in this. It’s good for slow-motion video; 24 fps to 30 fps is fine.
So, this Smartphone Buying Guide 2024 will help you to choose a best mobile phone.
