MNP
Mobile number portability makes it harder to prevent SIM Swap fraud. If your SIM got damaged or stolen, you can’t get or apply for a new SIM card up to 7 Days, Also, if you get sim through swap, you have to wait for 7 days period to port. Before, you could easily apply on the same or next day. This will end the SIM swap scam.
SIM Deactivation
The SIM company may deactivate completely inactive or unused SIMs; if they have crossed the time of inactivity, you should ask the time from your SIM provider.
Promotional Messages
You are getting too many promotional messages these days, but now, without your permission or consent, SIM companies can’t send you these messages.
SIM Verification
If you are buying a New SIM card, the process of verification will become stronger, like postpaid, to prevent SIM fraud. You have to give strong proof of identification with biometric verification.
Caller Name On Display
TRAI also recommends showing the official Aadhaar name to an unknown caller to prevent scams. If anybody calls you, you can see their real name. But this is only a recommendation; it may or not apply.
