Rules Of BSNL Postpaid
Activation Charges of the SIM are ₹100, and Security Deposit for the SIM is ₹500. Data Rollover and unlimited voice calling are available with all plans.
Overall, Jio Postpaid plans are good, but not perfect. BSNL is not giving any OTT and high-speed internet, but Jio is giving basic OTT with 2 plans and high-speed data. You have to add GST to get the final price of plans.
Jio is charging ₹150 month for additional SIM, which is not bad. Overall, Both Postpaid are bad; you should go for prepaid or any other postpaid SIM. We will talk about Airtel Postpaid plans later.
Network Coverage
In the Network Coverage, BSNL is far behind the Jio. Jio is best in network coverage. BSNL is still improving, but there are many places where the BSNL network is not available. Both the postpaid SIMs will work in Hill areas, where Prepaid SIM service is not available. So, you must personally check the Network coverage of your area before making any move.
4G And 5G
There is no 5G in BSNL; they may launch in the middle of 2025, but not confirmed. On the other hand, Jio is working with the Fast 5G network, and 2GB above and postpaid plans come with unlimited 5G Data.
Even though BSNL 4G is not available in the entire India, they are working to deploy both networks in the India.
BSNL vs Jio Speed
BSNL speed is very poor compared to Jio. BSNL gives 5–10 Mbps download speed and 1–2 Mbps upload speed. On the other hand, Jio 4G gives near 100 Mbps and 5G gives near 400 mbps download speed, but upload speed is also bad in Jio.
