I used BSNL SIM for 2 years and here is my 2years experience and BSNL SIM review 2024.
How many times have I faced network coverage problems, slow internet speed, customer service, 4G, 5G and recharge plans?
Network Coverage
Network coverage was very bad from 1 year ago. It was bad as electricity was gone, and then BSNL Network was also gone. BSNL was in the worst situation in a year. The BSNL company was also facing big losses.
But in the last few months, BSNL has improved a lot in network conditions. Now, even after electricity goes out, the BSNL network still remains the same.
But still, the BSNL network is not very good, and users are still facing problems. Sometimes, the network remains down, medium, and sometimes goes in many areas.
In Delhi, NCR, Haryana and Punjab, BSNL did a very well in increasing network coverage. So, network coverage depends on your area, you should check manually for the coverage. Don’t buy without testing the SIM.
Internet Speed
At the current time, BSNL has 2G, 3G and 4G in some areas, including my Delhi NCR. I tested the BSNL internet speed, but the results were not perfect. I got 11 Mbps download and 1 Mbps upload speed in 4G, which may be good, but in many areas, This speed is also very bad, most areas don’t have BSNL 4G, so the speed in those areas are very worst.
But BSNL has improved the network coverage and internet speed in recent times by installing towers. So, like network coverage, you must check your area BSNL internet speed.
BSNL 4G, 5G
BSNL is still testing 4G, but they have not launched BSNL 4G and 5G services. BSNL may launch 4G services in the last of 2024 and 5G from middle of the 2025. Some areas get 4G connectivity, but it’s feel like 3G, so you should wait for the official 4G and 5G launch.
BSNL is increasing towers with the help of many companies, including Tata. This will help BSNL to increase network coverage and internet speed.
BSNL Recharge Plans
BSNL recharge plans are very cheap; if we compare them to other networks, you can check BSNL Recharge Plans to learn more. But if you are facing Network and internet speed problems, Then these cheapest BSNL recharges are still expensive.
There are high chances that, When BSNL network and speed improved, then, they may increase the recharge plans rate, because BSNL is already at a loss, and they can’t afford cheap recharges with good services.
BSNL Service
BSNL services are like other SIMs, but not perfect. But the BSNL App is very good, but the BSNL website is not. You can do online recharges, complaints, and all things in BSNL. BSNL customer services also need an upgrade.
Should you buy a BSNL SIM?
This decision depends on your area. You should check your area’s coverage and internet speed. BSNL may take another 1–2 years to improve their services. Still, many people are not Happy with BSNL services. But in our area, like Delhi NCR, BSNL is performing well compared to previous years.
So take a look at your area’s BSNL SIM before buying. Overall, my experience has been good for a few months and it’s improving.
